Polymers based on natural triglycerides

Copolymers of naturally occurring unsaturated triacylglycerides (Baikal seal fat) and methyl methacrylate, copolymers of carboxylic acids isolated from this fat and methyl methacrylate, and esters of the same fatty acids and poly(ethylene glycols) with various molecular masses were synthesized. The heterophase polymerization of styrene carried out in the presence of copolymers and esters based on Baikal seal fat yielded polymer suspensions showing promise for immunochemical studies.
