Synthesis of hydroxamic acids: PdBaSO4 as a new catalyst for the deprotection of O-benzyl hydroxamates

PdBaSO4 was found to be an efficient catalyst in the deprotection of O-benzyl hydroxamates via hydrogenation to give the corresponding hydroxamic acids without further reduction to amides.
