Novel aminomethylpiperidine derivative, its production and pharmaceutical composition containing it

PURPOSE: To provide a novel aminomethylpiperidine derivative substd. at position 1 by a heterocyclic group, useful in the treatment of depression, schizophrenia, cardiovascular disease and hypertension, because they act both on the central nervous system and on the peripheral nervous system by means of the 5-HT 1 A receptors. CONSTITUTION: An aminomethylpiperidine derivative of formula I [X is S, O or alkyl-substd. amino; R is H, formula II (Z is O or CH 2 ; Y and Y' are each H, or together form oxo; R 1 is H, halogen, alkyl, etc.; R' 1 is H, halogen or alkoxy; R 2 is H or alkyl; m is 0 or 1), etc.; R' is H or alkyl, or R and R' together with the adjacent nitrogen atom form a piperidine ring], e.g. 1-(benzothiazol-2-yl)-4-[[2-(2-methoxyphenoxy)ethyl] aminomethyl]piperazine. The compound when R and R' are each H is obtained by reacting a compound of formula III (X' is halogen) with 4-aminomethylpiperidine of formula IV. COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO
