Surface science lettersDiffusion of adatom dimers on (111) surface of face centred crystals: A molecular dynamics study

Using computer simulation by the technique of molecular dynamics, we have studied the diffusion of adatom dimers on a (111) Lennard-Jones surface. In an intermediate range of temperatures (from 0.3Tm up to 0.6Tm, where Tm is the substrate melting point) simultaneous multiple jumps for both atoms of the dimer are shown to occur.
