The invention discloses an array substrate and a preparation method therefor, and a display apparatus. The preparation method comprises the steps of providing a substrate; forming a first electrode on the substrate; forming a first insulating layer on the first electrode, and forming a first via hole in the first insulating layer; forming an active layer on the first insulating layer, wherein the active layer is electrically connected with the first electrode through the first via hole; forming a gate insulating layer on the active layer; forming a gate electrode on the gate insulating layer, wherein the gate electrode and the active layer are at least partially overlapped in a direction perpendicular to the substrate; forming a second insulating layer on the gate electrode and the gate insulating layer, and forming a second via hole in the second insulating layer and the gate insulating layer; and forming a pixel electrode on the second insulating layer, wherein the pixel electrode is electrically connected with the active layer through the second via hole. By adoption of the preparation method, the quality of the active layer can be improved, and the contact resistance can be lowered.
