Interval Electrical Betweenness Method for Power Grid Vulnerability Assessment Considering Wind Power

Wind energy has been integrated into power grid on a large scale. Due to its volatility and intermittency, the integration has brought new challenges to the security and vulnerability assessment of power grid. This paper proposes an interval electrical betweenness method to identify the vulnerable lines and nodes of power grid with wind power. Firstly, the wind generation is modelled as interval numbers, and the interval power flow is employed to obtain the interval power in transmission lines. Then, according to the topology and operation of the power grid lines and nodes, an interval electrical betweenness function is presented to represent the vulnerability. Furthermore, the interval number ranking method is used to rank the obtained interval electrical betweenness so as to identify vulnerable lines and nodes. The simulation results of IEEE 39-bus system verify the comprehensiveness and effectiveness of the proposed method.
