Inhibition of growth of Cl. botulinum at different pH values by sodium chloride and sodium nitrite
2007
Summary
The inhibitory combinations of pH (5·4–6·2), NaCl (0–7% w/v) and NaNO2 (0–300 ppm) have been determined at 35° in a laboratory medium for vegetative cells of Cl. botulinum types A, B, E and F. Inhibition of growth of Cl. botulinum is shown to be the result of interaction of all three factors and the importance of studies of this nature is discussed.
