Towards microwave-based non-destructive testing of borehole heat exchangers

In this paper we present the first results achieved within the cooperative project aimed at the evaluation of the backfilling quality in borehole heat exchangers. Evaluation is performed by means of microwave sensing. We describe measurements of dielectric permittivity of concrete mixtures used in borehole heat exchangers along with the ability to detect defects in such mixtures
