Neural Activation of Muscles Regulates Muscle Acetylcholinesterase Expression

1998
Motor innervation of skeletal muscles is indispensable for their development and maintenance of their integrity and specific properties of different muscles. Most of muscle fiber physiological and biochemical properties seem to be under control of nerve triggered electromechanical activity in muscles. Indeed, muscles display a remarkable plasticity, and can adapt to changing demands placed upon them by the nervous system via motoneurons (1).
