Intraionic transition in Mn2+ in zinc-blende semiconductors

This paper gives a discussion of a proposed mechanism for the conversion of an ionic transition, forbidden in free Mn2+, to allowed in a zinc-blende crystal by virtue of a modulation of the crystal potential by dynamic polarization of the anions of the crystal. We prove that this proposed mechanism is not effective in this context.
