Changes of Thoughts and Prospects of Future Development of Faculty Development in American Universities:From the Perspective of Multi-Cultural Values

In multi-cultural society,it has become a core issue for American faculty development to promote faculty development and to improve the quality of higher education.In the perspective of multi-cultural values and by adopting the research method of historical comparison,the paper analyses the changes of American faculty development concepts,further discusses the relation between econom-ical resources,types of development and university culture,and based on these explores its develop-ment prospects as diversity,openness and entirety.This is not only beneficial to the comprehensive understanding on the core values of American faculty development,but also important for the faculty development of China.
