Wuchereria bancrofti and Brugia malayi Protein Components from Sera of the Amicrofilaremic and Microfilaremic People in Endemic Areas (Komponen Protein Wuchereria bancrofti dan Brugia malayi dari Sera Penduduk Daerah Endemis yang Amikrofilaremik dan Mikrofilaremik)

1995
This research is about filariasis immunology which shows that the group of amicrofilaremic people from endemic area have better immune response than that of the microfilaremic group of people. Based on this research there are some microfilaria protein components on the sera of the people in W.bancrofti endemic area in Tangerang and the people in B.malayi endemic area in P. Buton. The people's sera in the W.bancrofti endemic area in Tangerang have protein components with molecular weight of 89 Kd, 63 Kd, 50 Kd, 44 Kd and 39 Kd; while people's sera in the B.malayi endemic area in P. Buton have protein components with molecular weight of 158 Kd, 125 Kd, 112 Kd, 100 Kd, 79 Kd, 63 Kd, 50 Kd, 39 Kd, 31 Kd, 25 Kd and 15 Kd. If there is a cross reaction between antigen of the B.malayi and the W.bancrofti sera, the sera from the reaction will have protein components of 125 Kd, 112 Kd, 100 Kd, 89 Kd, 79 Kd, 63 Kd, 50 Kd, 44 Kd, 39 Kd, 25 Kd and 15 Kd. On the other hand, the sera as the result of a cross reaction between the W.bancrofti antigen and people's sera from the B. malayi endemic area will have some protein components of 89 Kd, 63 Kd and 19 Kd. In addition, the molecular weight of 63 Kd are found in the sera of both group of people.
