THERMAL HISTORY SIGNIFICANCE OF APATITE FISSION-TRACK LENGTH DISTRIBUTIONS AND AGES

Based on the fanning model of fission track annealing presented, a forward computer modelling of track shortening and age evolution was given in this paper. The thermal significance of apatite track length distributions and ages was studied for the following types of thermal histories: I)isothermal heating; 2)linear cooling; 3)linear heating; 4)step heating.
