A model for a virtual association of thermographers

At ThermoSense XXX, a series of presentations and subsequent discussions reviewed the status of professionalism and certification among Infrared Thermographers. Since then the Internet has grown rapidly in formation and operation of social networks and several informal, virtual groups of Thermographers have appeared, notably on the social network Linkedin.com. It seems feasible, then, to now consider formation of an International Virtual Professional Association of Thermographers based on Social Networking technologies available on the World Wide Web at very modest cost. This presentation will review some of the benefits and advantages to Thermographers of such technologies and a virtual organization.
