Regional distribution of met-enkephalin within the amygdaloid complex and bed nucleus of the stria terminals
1978
Abstract The distribution of met-enkephalin (Met-E) within the amygdaloid complex and bed nucleus of the stria terminalis has been studied using a sensitive and highly specific radioimmunoassay. Particularly high levels of Met-E were found in the central nucleus of the amygdala. Large amounts of Met-E were also found in the various subdivisions of the bed nucleus of the stria terminalis (BST). These results are in good agreement with immunohistochemical data.
