Density and excess molar volume of ternary mixtures monoethanolamine + ethanol/n-propanol + H2O at (293.15–323.15) K and 101 kPa

2020
Abstract In this work, the density of ternary mixtures, monoethanolamine (MEA) (1) + ethanol (2) + H2O (3) and MEA (1) + n-propanol (2) + H2O (3) and corresponding five binary mixtures, MEA (1) + ethanol (2), MEA (1) + H2O (3), ethanol (2) + H2O (3), MEA (1) + n-propanol (2) and n-propanol (2) + H2O (3) were reported over the whole composition ranges at temperatures from (293.15 to 323.15) K and 101 kPa. Excess molar volume (VmE) for binary and ternary systems were also calculated and correlated by Redlich-Kister and Nagata-Tamura equations respectively. Fitting results for ternary mixtures were also compared with those by Redlich-Kister, Cibulka, Singh and Pineiro empirical equations. Furthermore, the variation of VmE value with temperature was discussed and explained from intermolecular interactions, namely forces of hydrogen bonds interaction between unlike molecules and dispersion forces.
