Demotivation in EFL Learning: A Case Study of Chinese High School Students in a Rural Area

The study explored demovation of English learning by open questionnaires with 60 high school students and semi-structured interviews with 6 demotivated learners in a rural area in China.It was found that the English itself,the learning environment and significant others were the three major causes of their demotivation.Furthermore,suggestions were provided to overcome demotivation.
