The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a security element, comprising a) providing a carrier with an embossing lacquer layer having a first, a diffractive structure forming relief structure and a second, a micro-mirror array forming relief structure; b) the printing of the first, a diffractive structure forming the relief structure with a printing ink, based on platelet-shaped metal pigments, which are such that they are spatially aligned along the relief structure of the embossing lacquer layer and thus form a reflection layer; c) the portions of the first, a diffractive structure forming the relief structure and the second, a micro-mirror array forming relief structure recesses form printing a soluble washable ink in such a manner in the applied color wash; d) full-surface applying a color thin-film element followed by washing the washable ink, so that the colored thin-film element in the areas of the first, a diffractive structure forming the relief structure and the second, a micro-mirror array forming relief structure remains in spatially aligned along the respective relief structure form; e) applying an adhesive layer.
