Empleo del colgajo axial frontonasal en cirugía reconstructiva de punta nasal

Large repairs of defects on the tip or dorsum of the nose secondary to surgical excision of tumoral lesions should be based on remaining nasal skin whenever possible. This is due to the unique texture and color of this skin. The axial fronto-nasal flap described by Marchac is a modification of a flap described earlier by Rieger based on a excellent axial vascularitation through angular artery. This modification increases mobility and allows a big slide and rotation for the reconstruction of defects of the nasal tip. We present the case of a 80-year-old woman with a previous diagnosis of basal cell carcinoma. It was located on the tip and lower third of the dorsum ot the nose. An axial fronto-nasal flap was performed for the repair of the skin defect left after the surgical excision. The aesthetic result obtained was satisfactory. The description of the technique, its advantages and disadvantages are discused and revisited.
