Structural and electrical relations of monosulphide solid solution in the FeNiS system at high pressures and temperatures

1980
Abstract Monosulphide solid solution in the FeNiS system was synthesised at high pressure and temperature, and its electrical conductivity measured at several pressures and as a function of temperature. The results show a non-classic transition from semiconducting to metallic behaviour in the samples under pressure. The influence of pressure as a function of composition shows the tendency to a relative shift of the properties towards the Ni-rich end. Correspondingly one also can consider the influence of temperature as a shift towards Fe-rich compositions.
