Analyzer for H{sub 2}S, CO{sub 2} promises savings for amine operations

1996
Tests of an on-line analyzer that measures hydrogen sulfide (H{sub 2}S) and carbon dioxide (CO{sub 2}) loadings in amine solutions have indicated the analyzer, when properly installed, calibrated, and maintained, provided accurate and reliable analytical results for a variety of amine solutions. The tests were conducted by Radian Corp., Austin, under contract to the Gas Research Institute (GRI), Chicago. Radian evaluated the performance and potential economic benefits of the Amko-Eppendorf Model CS-200, an on-line analyzer that measures H{sub 2}S and CO{sub 2} loadings in amine solutions. The real-time data provided by the analyzer can be useful in a program of sweetening-unit optimization.
