Synthesis and gas sensors behavior of surfactants free V2O5 nanostructure by using a simple precipitation method

In this study, a simple precipitation method, without introducing any surfactants as catalysts or any structure directing agents, has been developed to synthesize V2O5 for gas sensing applications. X-ray diffraction pattern of the prepared V2O5 confirmed the polycrystallinity of the sample with orthorhombic structure with a preferred orientation. Scanning electron microscopic (SEM) images clearly showed the porous surface of the V2O5 nanopetals which demonstrate enhanced sensitivity to ethanol than ammonia at room temperature.
