In this research, adult reading motivation inventory, developed by Schutte and Malouff (2007), was adapted to Turkish and reliability and validity analysis of this inventory were made. This inventory consisted of 4 factors and 21 items. In the adaptation process, there were three phases. First, linguistic equivalency of original and adapted versions of the inventory was provided. Second, the structural validity was reviewed. Third, reliability of the adapted inventory was computed. Having been provided linguistic equivalency, the inventory was administered to the similar subjects matching the sample used in developing original adult reading motivation inventory for readers who are native English speakers. The total of 201 undergraduate students, 11 teachers, and 49 subjects coming from a wide variety of professional groups participated in this research. For structural validity, CFA was used. The analysis done through AMOS was revealed the inventory having 19 items and 4 factors. For the reliability of this scale, test-retest analysis was employed. Having been completed all phases, the adapted inventory, having good reliability and validity scores, was obtained.
