The invention discloses a start and stop control method for an engine of an AMT (automated mechanical transmission) parallel connection type hybrid electrical vehicle. The start and stop control method is characterized in that a detecting system detects an integral running mode, a gear state, a clutch state, the rotation speed of the engine, the rotation speed of a motor, the voltage of an energy storage system and parameters of an accelerator pedal, transmits start and stop commands for the engine, and controls start and stop of the engine; an integral vehicle controller controls an ISG (integrated starter generator) to start so as to drive the engine to start; and a flameout signal is introduced for an engine controller, and when the vehicle stops and the engine needs to stop, the integral vehicle controller transmits the flameout signal to the engine controller.
