The Projected Use of Satellite Data to Aid Atlantic and Gulf Coast Fisheries

1984
Spacebased NASA scientific remote sensing programs have established technologies that have proved very useful to U.S. Pacific coast fisheries. The experience gained should be very useful to Atlantic and Gulf coast fisheries. Pacific coast pilot experiments using the NASA experimental sensors have already established some of the better geophysical conversion processes, distribution systems and methods of correctly applying the data. This paper reviews west coast pilot experiments and the prejection of new, yet to be operational, satellite remote sensing tools on U.S. fishery production efficiency and safety in other regions.
