Mass for manufacturing a diamond tool

2015
The invention relates to the field of tool production, and specifically to diamond tools containing diamond grains which are bound by an organic binding agent. A mass for manufacturing a diamond tool contains diamond, an organic binding agent, and a carbon filler, namely graphene oxide in the form of ultrafine powders, in the following ratio of components (vol%): 6.0-32.0 diamond; 2.0-20.0 carbon in the form of ultrafine graphene oxide powders; and the balance being an organic binding agent. The mass may additionally contain a brittle filler, wherein powders of boron carbide, silicon carbide, aluminum oxides, silicon dioxide and others may be used as such a filler, and also metal powders selected from the group including Ag, Cu, Fe, Bi, and Al. A mass containing carbon in the form of ultrafine powders of graphene oxide is less expensive, does not contain scarce components, and allows for manufacturing a tool having high strength, durability and cutting performance.
