Preparation and Electrochemical Sensing Application of Porous Conducting Polymers

2020
Abstract Porous conducting polymers (PCPs) are a kind of unique conducting polymer (CPs) material that integrate the excellent electrochemical properties of the material itself and the advantage of the porous structure. Compared with conventional conducting polymers, PCPs have larger specific surface area associated with more active sites, along with higher electrocatalytic activity. PCPs have received increasing attention in the past years as unique sensing materials and have been broadly applied in electrochemical sensing. In this review, various strategies for the synthesis of PCPs including template-free (or direct synthesis) method and template methods were introduced and summarized. Application and future development of PCPs in electrochemical sensing applications were subsequently discussed. This review aims to give readers a full understanding of the synthesis and electrochemical sensing applications of PCPs and some indications in future studies.
