The Crystal and Molecular Structure of 2:2 Complex of 1,1,6,6-Tetraphenyl-2,4-hexadiyne-1,6-diol (DD) with 1-Methyl-2-(3-pyridyl)pyrrolidine (Nicotine)

X-Ray crystal structure analysis of the title complex is described. 2(C30H22O2),2(C10H14N2), F.W. 1153.5, monoclinic, space group P21, a=28.913(2), b=12.353(1), c=9.340(1) A, β=98.20(1)°, V=3301.7(6) A3, Dc=1.16 g cm−3 for Z=2. Two DD molceules are bound by two nicotine by four O–H···N hydrogen bonds to form a 2:2 complex. The crystal consists of these asymmetric 2:2 complexes.
