Conifer foliage extractive substances in plant protection

T h e possibili t ies o f manufactur ing plant protection agents from extractive substances o f p ine and spruce necdl ts are considered, including the evaluation o f thc agent's fungicidal and insecticidal properties. A description o f phytopreparation "Fitoekols IF" is presented. It is devoid of toxicity, posseses fungicidal and insecticidal properties, is effective against pathogenic fungus infections and sucking insects for under-cover and field crops. The possible use of conifer foliage extractive substances, and the salts o f resinous and fatty acids in particular, for developing environment-friendly plant protection agents applicable in systcms of biological farming is demonstrated.
