Chemical constituents from the root of Cynanchum limprichtii Schltr

Abstract The isolation and characterization of seventeen compounds have been obtained from phytochemical investigation from the root of Cynanchum limprichtii Schltr., including eight steroidal glycosides (1–8), one flavone (9), three aromatic compounds (10–12), four organic acidic compounds (13–16), and one sugar (17). Their structures were established by spectroscopic methods, which were compared to the reported data. Additionally, the compounds (11–14, 16) were isolated from the genus Cynanchum for the first time, of which the chemotaxonomic significance was discussed.
