Groove structure of piston for compressor

2008
PURPOSE: A groove structure of the piston for a compressor is provided to enhance the sealing performance by maximizing the sealing area of the outer skirt contacting with the inner side of a cylinder bore. CONSTITUTION: A groove structure of the piston for a compressor(50) comprises grooves(100). The grooves are formed at the skirts(200) of both ends of a piston and comprises a stepped vertical face(110) and an inclined face(120). The stepped vertical face is adjacent to an outer skirt(200b). The inclined face is connected from the inner end of the vertical face to the circumferential face of an inner skirt(200a). A rounded portion(130) connecting the vertical face to the circumferential face is formed between the vertical face of each groove and the circumferential surface of the outer skirt.
