Sustainability Logistics Basing Science and Technology Objective. Demonstration #1 - 1000 Person Camp Demo
2016
Abstract : This report documents the objectives, technologies, methods, and results of a Sustainability/Logistics-Basing Science and Technology Objective Demonstration (SLB-STO-D) at the Contingency Basing Integration and Technology Evaluation Center (CBITEC), Fort Leonard Wood, MO. The goal of the SLB-STO-D is to demonstrate emerging materiel solution technologies and associated non-materiel solutions that can reduce the need for fuel resupply by 25 , for water resupply by 75 , and for waste removal by 50 , while maintaining or improving the quality of life at expeditionary base camps. The SLB-STO-D is using modeling and simulation, closely integrated with field demonstrations, to show fuel, water, and waste savings attributed to these technologies. Technologies demonstrated at CBITEC include Modular Appliances for Configurable Kitchens (MACK), Desert Environment Sustainable Efficient Refrigeration Technology (DESERT), Real Time Inline Diagnostic Technology for Water Monitoring (WATERMON), Wastewater Treatment (WWT-Bio), Power Shade Cost Reduction (PSHADE), Energy Informed Operations (EIO-C), Deployable Metering and Monitoring System (DMMS), Hybrid Power Trailer (HPT), and Structural Insulated Panel Hut (SIP-Hut).
