CONSEQUENCES OF INDUSTRIAL ROBOTS IN THE FIELD OF WORK ORGANIZATION

1984
The extent as well as the grade of automation and integration-singular systems with automated tool manipulation only up to flexible manufacturing systems-lead to distinct organizational consequences. Although any technical and technological change necessitates organizational adaptions, there is no compulsory relation between a certain technique or technology and a special work organization, but a variety of different structures of organization. Analysis of future oriented use of industrial robots demonstrates that automation and humanisation are not only compatible but both necessary aspects for planning considerations. The aim of this paper is to show-under consideration of the consequences of the use of industrial robots with regard to functional and human criteria-the possibility and the course to optimal mastering of that challenge.
