The crystal and molecular structure of Re 2CI 6(PMePh 2) 2

Abstract The title compound was obtained in crystalline form and the structure determined. It crystallizes in space group P 2 1 / n with unit cell dimensions of a = 10.221(3), b = 11.747(4), c = 15.189(6)A, β= 100.11(3)°, V = 1796(1)A 3 and Z =2. The molecule is rigorously centrosymmetric with the following principal dimensions: Re Re, 2.227(1)A,; Re P, 2.475(2)A; Re Cl( trans to P), 2.337(3)A; Re Cl ( cis to P), 2.310(3) and 2.319(3)A.
