A Study on the Serum Concentration of Lentinan Administered via Various Routes in Tumor Bearing Mice and in Human Breast Cancer Patients: In Relation to Antitumor Effect

We have reported on the efficacy of antitumor polysaccaride lentinan against breast cancer through experimental studies and clinical trials, and also on the mechanism of antitumor action of lentinan. Attempts in the present study have been made to elucidate the relationship between the in vivo pharmacokinetics of lentinan and its antitumor effect. We investigated pharmacokinetics of lentinan administered via various routes into sarcoma 180 bearing mice and mammary cancer patients.
