Computer Languages for Engineers

1973
Modern computers are revolutionizing engineering analysis of wastewater systems. The combination of their general availability and the development of engineeringoriented languages for communication has provided the engineering community with a superior tool for process analysis. In the past, the time-consuming computation of simple material and energy balances for wastewater systems usually prevented the engineer from making as complete a study as he desired. The analysis he did perform was based on the simplest system description, and he could only perform calculations for a relative few cases. Now through computer simulations, many variables, -many process configurations, and many cases can be examined.
