Effect of Au nanoparticles on spectroscopic properties of Eu 0.9 Y 0.1 Ta 7 O 19 powder

We have demonstrated that both spectra and kinetics of spontaneous emission of Eu0.9Y0.1Ta7O19 powder can be strongly affected by small amounts (<1 wt.%) of gold nanoparticles added to the powder. This opens a possibility of engineering basic spectroscopic properties of random laser materials on nanoscale level.
