Global Justice Intrernational Law and Development

2017
Chapter introduces concepts of transnational space of laws and transnational legal futures and develops a model of law practice for contemporary development challenges. Conceptual work builds upon Battersby's adaptation of Luhmann's complex systems theory and systems change to conceive international law and global governance as complex adaptive and evolving systems. Drawing upon PhD research of Farrell, concepts are applied to evaluate cases of unethical clinical trials by pharmaceutical companies in developing countries.
