Leukocyte Transfusions for the Modification of Host-versus-graft Reactions in Dogs

Allogeneic bone marrow transplantation has been attempted with promising results in the treatment of severe aplastic anemia and refractory acute leukemia. Failure of engraftment and marrow graft rejection are the most serious problems in the treatment of aplastic anemia with transplantation of marrow from HLA-identical siblings, despite preparation of recipients with otherwise lethal doses of cytostatic drugs or total-body irradiation.
