The invention provides a method, a server and a system based on instant messaging for releasing user state. The method comprises the following steps: receiving the user state information pushed by a user state pool connected with instant messaging software; updating the local user state information according to the received user state information; and sending the updated user state information to a network service platform. The server providing the user state comprises a user state information receiving unit used for receiving the user state information pushed by the user state pool connected with the instant messaging software, a user state information updated unit used for updating the local user state information according to the received user state information, and a user state information releasing unit used for sending the updated user state information to the network service system. The technical scheme of the invention reduces the processing procedures of an IM software client and a network application platform and realizes the releasing and the synchronized sharing of IM user information.
