Increased wood-cement compatibility of chromate-treated wood

Wood particles from specimens treated with chromated copper arsenate (CCA) and particles pretreated with chromic acid produced stronger wood-cement composites compared to untreated wood. Results from stick pull-out, compressive strength, and flexural toughness trials all indicate that chromium acts as an effective compatibility enhancing agent between wood and cement
