Structural integrity assessment for a flawed titanium pipe

This paper reports an assessment performed on a flawed titanium pipe, containing longitudinally oriented internal- and external-surface cracks, using both deterministic and probabilistic R6 methods. The assessment results were evaluated with respect to the methods used in assessment. According to the assessment results, the titanium pipe still had the required capacity to fulfill its commission although with the stated defects. In order to further improve the integrity status of the titanium pipe, some procedures have been proposed.
