Effect of methanol extract from Monadenium Lugardiae on contractile activity of guinea-pig ileum.

: A methanol extract from Monadenium Lugardiae was tested for contractile activity on the guinea-pig ileum using the transmural stimulation method. Results obtained showed that the extract exhibited notable activity on the guinea-pig ileum contraction. Higher concentrations, however, showed inhibitory effect on the guinea-pig ileum contraction as well as its response to transmural stimulation.
