An Efficient Microstrip Planar Array For Evaluating Channel Capacity Of Massive MIMO Systems

2021
In this paper, the novel wideband partial ground plane microstrip antenna and microstrip planar array are designed as base station antenna for massive mimo systems. The wideband antenna and planar array are designed for the sub 6GHz band for future 5G networks. This band will give good coverage compared to the millimeter frequency band. This mm frequency is suffering from atmospheric attenuation losses and line of sight problems. The wideband microstrip antenna and a planar wideband microstrip array for massive Mimo systems are developed by using C.S.T. microwave studio. The antenna is designed using Roger 3003 substrate with a dielectric constant(er) of 3 and substrate length 50mm width of substrate 50mm and height 1.5mm. The G.L. is the partial ground plane. Its length is 16.3. Mt is the thickness of the metal layer substrate of the P.C.B., i.e., 0.035. The microstrip feed line width is 2.5, and the length is 17. The patch width is 17, and the size is 19.5. The inset1 width is 0.5, and length is three, and the dimensions are the same for inset2. The design observed S-parameters, VSWR, Total Efficiency,1D-Radiation pattern, 3D-Radiation pattern. This antenna can work efficiently in the sub6GHz frequency band for WIFI, Wi-MAX, WLAN, Bluetooth, and Zigbee.
