Organização e trabalho das mulheres ribeirinhas amazônicas: um es¬tudo nas comunidades de Santa Luzia e São Lázaro no Grande Lago de Manacapuru/AM

2015
The debate on women’s work organization in non-indigenous traditional contexts, is the core in the contemporary scene in order to search for ways to develop a sustainability perspective. In this sense, the article presents discussion on the basis of partial results of the research entitled: Organization and Working Women Riparian Amazon: A Study In Communities In Santa Luzia and Saint Lazarus From The Great Lake Manacapuru / AM, whose main objective is the discussion of contributions of the riverside women in socio-political organization and work in the local context. The field research was based on action research associated with quantitative and qualitative approaches. In the investigated communities, women are the main holders of knowledge related to the flour production processes, the main product of livelihood of families, in the same time are responsible for the reproduction of this knowledge through oral tradition. Importantly, the process of planting and production of flour is developed by hand, with social technologies developed by community members themselves, with low environmental impact. Women in these communities are primarily responsible, in large part, by the family and community social organization.
