Efecto anti fúngico in vitro del aceite esencial de Cinnamomum zeylanicum sobre especies causantes de Otomicosis

The objective of this study was to demonstrate the in vitro antifungal effect of Cinnamomum zeylanicum essential oil on otomycosis-causing species. The study was developed in the environments of the laboratory of Farmaconogsia of the National University of Trujillo and in the Microbiology laboratories of the Faculty of Medicine of the National University of Trujillo. The sample consisted of 10 replicates for each concentration of cinnamon essential oil and fluconazole was taken as a positive control. The effectiveness of such essential oil against Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger was determined by the disk diffusion method. The minimum inhibitory concentration was assessed using the method of macrodilution, observing the turbidity in addition to the presence or absence of colony forming units (CFU). The results obtained showed that the essential oil Cinnamomum zeylanicum has anti-fungal effect in vitro on otomycosis-causing species.
