Spasmolytics IV: Azo and Azoxy Derivatives of 3-Tropanyl 2,3-Diarylacrylates

Some derivatives of potent spasmolytic aminoesters were made and tested to determine if they were satisfactory prodrug forms. These azo- and azoxyesters were much less active than the aminoesters in a 5-hr. spasmolytic test in mice, and results suggest that these potential aminoesters are not satisfactory prodrugs.
