On the question concerning the development of strict seiche theory in seas with intricate bottom relief

This paper answers the direct and inverse problems of hydroacoustics in non-uniform media. The solutions are based on the law of wave reflection in homogeneous and non-uniform media, and on the law of wave refraction for two uniform half-spaces and two non-uniform media. The algorithm of the calculation of direct and inverse task in the geodesic coordinates is analogous to the algorithm for a homogeneous medium. Green's function of divergent waves was used to solve the direct task while Green's function of convergent waves was used to solve the inverse task. The proposed method can be used for identification of source coordinates that irradiate continuous signal on a few waveband as well as oceanographic challenges.
