2014
Objective:To describe the profile of drug utilization in hospitalized children with pneumonia,so as to provide reference for analyzing rationality of drug use by electronic medical records massive data. Methods:Clinical data were obtained from medical records of hospitalized children with pneumonia in Shanghai Children's Hospital in 2012.The descriptive data including patients' basic information, hospitalization duration, category of drugs and combined medication were retrospectively reviewed. Results:The medical records of 2973 hospitalized children were included. The median hospitalization duration was 7days,the mode was 6days and the quartile Q1 and Q3 were 6and 9days,respectively.Of all the patients, the new-born and infants accounted for 57.2%(n=1702)and children under 6years old accounted for 89.9%(n=2672).The median category count of the prescribed drugs was 10,the mode was 9and the quartile Q1 and Q3were 7and 12,respectively.Antibacterials were respectively prescribed to 99.1%(n=2947)patients,antiasthmatics to 71.8%(n=2134),expectorants to 63.7%(n=1893),probiotics to 42.0%(n=1249),and anti-inflammatory agents to 31.4%(n=933).The category of antibacterials was usually confined within 3.The tendentious ratio of amoxicillin-clavulanate potassium injection to cefotaxime sodium injection as the first choice of selection was 1.54[95%CI(1.41,1.69)].Conclusion:Young children are susceptible to pneumonia.Antibacterials, antiasthmatics, expectorants and probiotics are the main regimens for the treatment of pneumonia. The treatment of hospitalized children with pneumonia in the hospital was basically in line with the medical guidelines.
