RETRACTED: Toward an Optimal Oligosaccharide Ligand for Rat Natural Killer Cell Activation Receptor NKR-P1

2001
Available online 14 September 2001 This article has been retracted: please see Elsevier Policy on Article Withdrawal ( http://www.elsevier.com/locate/withdrawalpolicy ). This article has been retracted at the request of the authors. The paper describes binding of various carbohydrates and their derivatives to the rat natural killer cell activation receptor NKR-P1. An investigation has recently brought to light that the author responsible for the immunological experiments – Prof. Karel Bezouska - has been fabricating the results and also illegally manipulating with experimental material in collaborating laboratories. Based on the findings of the Joint Ethical Committee of the Institute of Microbiology, Acad. Sci. of the Czech Republic, and Charles University in Prague and based on the reevaluation experiments performed [1], the authors consider all the data on the binding of saccharides to the NKR-P1 and CD69 receptors erroneous. Therefore, the authors request the retraction of the above publication. The authors note that synthesis of 3-acetamido-2,6-anhydro-1,3-dideoxy-1-nitro-D-glycero-D-manno-heptitol described in the retracted paper has not been affected by the misconduct and the procedure and respective spectral data remain valid. The authors of this article would like to apologize to all affected parties. [1] D. Rozbeský, J. Krejzova, K. Krenek, J. Prchal, R. Hrabal, M. Kožisek, L. Weignerova, M. Fiore, P. Dumy, O.
